A solo exhibition by Monash Senior Lecturer, and Bangerang photographer, Peta Clancy exploring sites of frontier violence and massacres, created in collaboration with the Dja Dja Wurrung community.

Over a 12-month residency at the Koorie Heritage Trust, Bangarang artist, Peta Clancy has collaborated with the Dja Dja Wurrung community to research, develop and create a major series of large format landscape photography, of key sites relating to frontier violence and massacres on Dja Dja Wurrung Country. Using tearing and layering techniques, Peta’s work references the emotional and cultural scars left in the landscape by this violence, which have been historically and physically covered up by subsequent colonial occupation of the land.

The Koorie Heritage Trust residency program and this exhibition has been supported by the Australian Government’s Indigenous Languages and Arts Program.
