Join Vicki Couzens, Monash Associate Professor Daniel von Sturmer, and John Harvey for a conversation about their work developing three new major commissions for ACMI: Yanmeearr, CATARACT (concrete) and Canopy.

In this special event hosted by ACMI Chief Curator Sarah Tutton, artist Vicki Couzens will discuss the traditions of fireside storytelling and Yanmeearr, her multi-part artwork that embodies the centuries-spanning connection between traditional Indigenous storytelling and the contemporary moving image. Daniel von Sturmer will talk about the inspirations for, and technical challenges of, creating his new multi-screen work CATARACT (concrete), in which everyday moments are presented across 60 screens as a complex cacophony. John Harvey will discuss exploring connections and symbolism and his approach to storytelling through his multi-channel installation Canopy.
