Expression of interest

Completion of this form (and provision of accompanying supporting documentation) is a key requirement of the application process. MADA encourages applicants to contact potential supervisors prior to submitting an Expression of Interest. However this is not compulsory.

Your documentation is your chance to demonstrate your motivation to produce innovative and leading edge research outcomes in one of the MADA disciplines.

During this stage we will be seeking to understand your educational background, motivation to undertake research, areas of interest and your experience in research as well as your relevant employment history. We will need to consider your research interests so that we can identify potential research supervision for you and to determine how your proposed research can be supported by the faculty. Some disciplines will contact you to discuss your proposed research.

In order to complete this form, you’ll need to provide:

  1. Full transcripts for Academic Qualifications, which include results for all semesters/units for each degree
  2. Where relevant English language competencies (IELTS results, transcripts)
  3. Draft Research Proposal (discipline guidelines below)
  4. Writing sample (thesis-only applicants) OR Folio (practice/studio applicants only)
  5. Curriculum Vitae (as per discipline guidelines above)

On submission of this form we will be in touch to ascertain any further details and to provide feedback on your research proposal, potential supervision and resources. At this stage your research proposal is not a formal application but an expression of interest to undertake research at MADA.

Depending on the time of year, please allow 2-4 weeks for your Expression of Interest submission to the Faculty to be processed. Submissions received within two (2) weeks of the close of an application round may be referred to a future round for consideration.
