Our partner institutions offer a variety of options to Monash students. While some will accept students from any faculty, others may only be available to specific disciplines or faculties.
Study Plan
As part of your exchange application, you will need to prepare a Study Plan in which you list the units you wish to study and have credited back to your degree which are offered at your preferred partner institution. Following the exchange deadline, your faculty/ies will then review your study plan, and assess the units you have selected and how they would be credited (e.g. core, major, elective).
Language of instruction
Many of our exchange opportunities will allow you to continue your course in English, with some of our partners teaching either entirely in English or in English and the local language. If you want to study in a language other than English, you will be required to have a certain proficiency and may need to sit a language test.
Semester dates
Semester dates in the southern hemisphere differ to those in the northern hemisphere – meaning that while semester one in Australia begins in March, in places like the UK the Spring term (their second semester) begins in January. Be sure to check the academic dates of our partner institutions to make sure they align with your planned semester/s overseas.
Additional requirements
Some of our partners also have additional requirements like minimum WAM or GPA results, and in some cases extra fees. Please make sure you read through the partner institution's brochure carefully, as well as visit their website for incoming exchange students.
