A big win for MADA Communication Design students Kea Tokley-Higgs and Louie Evans: they’ve both been awarded top prize in the third annual “The Next Level” design competition, sponsored by Wacom.

Their prize includes exhibition of their work, profits from prints sold, and they’ll both receive a Wacom MobileStudio Pro 13 (valued at $3,499 each). Wacom has also generously donated two Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 pen displays (valued at $2,999 each) to Monash University in recognition of our student’s achievement.

Kea’s winning work is an illustration for Melbourne band Turn South, while Louie has created “a digital image I made in exploring 'personality'. Made by scanning watercolour and photographing texture.”

Over 600 entries were received from students around the world. Selected by Wacom and their contest partner Just Another Agency, the only entry requirement was that the work be created using a Wacom tablet.

While Kea and Louie continue their studies at Monash, their work now travels the world amongst 50 pieces selected to tour Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Thailand, USA, India and England.

“The Next Level” will be on exhibition at Melbourne gallery Besser Space 31 August – 7 September 2018.
