CRC-P Innovation in Advanced Multi-Storey Housing Manufacture

The objective Innovation in Advanced Multi-Storey Housing Manufacture CRC-P was to spearhead the restructuring of the construction sector from a low-margin, low-skill and hierarchical subcontracting model, towards a value-adding, high-skill and integrated manufacturing structure.

The Innovation in Advanced Multi-Storey Housing Manufacture CRC-P addressed the use of advanced manufacturing technologies and techniques to design and build innovative multi-storey housing that could meet industry and consumer demands by: reducing cost, build-time, risk and waste, while increasing housing sustainability, diversity, efficiency, safety and quality.
The research funding awarded to this project was part of the Commonwealth Government, Department of Industry, Innovation and Science’s Cooperative Research Program. The Department began the CRC-Projects scheme in 2016, targeted at enabling short-term (maximum three years) industry-led collaborations with Commonwealth funding of up to $3 million to develop important new technologies, products and services. Innovation in Advanced Multi-Storey Housing Manufacture was awarded $3 million in the first round of the new program and had a total cash budget of approximately $4.3 million, with a total value exceeding $7.5 million including in-kind contributions from the respective partner organisations.
