Digital project delivery: towards a regenerative design and construction approach
It aims to improve emerging construction technology, to recover the construction sector into an efficient, more productive and sustainable industry.
Professor Mathew Aitchison, CEO Building 4.0 CRC
Buildings can help solve climate change. Nearly-Zero-Emission-Buildings (NZEBs) reduce operational carbon emissions but new schemes need to be developed for managing the embodied GHG emissions.
The use of biogenic products such as timber, straw and hemp, if assembled offsite and installed with no fossil fuel machinery, may be the solution. Hence, a digitally optimized carbon-sequestering construction approach is proposed, via the application of BIM-assisted Life-Cycle-Assessment for biogenic NZEBs.
