System Synthesis

An exploration of our relationship to nature is undertaken through the immediacy of our connection to the houseplant and through the process of nurturing the plants of our urban environment. Filtered by domestic technologies this relationship reveals notions of the network and elucidates connections through interrelated systems that expand beyond the physical sculptural form. The living plant is the core material in a practice that brings ideas of biophilia together with a re-examination of systems thinking for a meditation on relationships and connections between ourselves, our technologies and our most immediately recognisable forms of nature.
