Anxiety into Action

How can design be the agent of optimism?

For their first assignment of the year at Monash University, we asked Bachelor of Design students to think about how their work can contribute to a sustainable and more equitable world by communicating messages of an optimistic future.

Although the 2020 COVID-19 outbreak prevented them from physically coming together on campus to share their ideas, they collaborated online to produce all sorts of amazing responses.

Some responded via illustration, others by photography. Some even responded in prose.

We’ve selected a few dozen of these and will reveal them here, and via @monashada on Instagram, throughout March and April.
