Dickson is an intern at the United Nations Environment Programme in the Chemicals and Health Branch working in the Strategic Approach to International Chemical Management Secretariat. Previously, Dickson thoroughly enjoyed teaching Chemistry, Biology, Science and Mathematics as a Secondary School Teacher for 6 years in Melbourne, Australia. During his time as a teacher, he has taken on a variety of roles including Head of House, Year 9 Science Coordinator, Form Teacher and Laboratory Technician. Dickson has a Bachelor of Science majoring in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) with a Science specialism from Monash University. He took a 3-month career break from teaching to explore South America and Antarctica. Upon hiking on a melting glacier, he found his passion in the environment and climate sector.
He is currently studying a Master of Environment and Sustainably with an International Development and Environment specialism at Monash University. Prior to arriving at UNEP, he completed an internship at the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning in the Energy Division and worked within the Project Management Office and Emerging Technologies Team in the Victorian Government. He is excited to take on new challenges for growth, continue his lifelong journey of learning and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
