David is the Senior Knowledge Broker Coordinator of the Hub, who brokers international climate data, maintains the Hub's codebase, and builds international relations with climate services and stakeholders. David brings his diverse experience in climate science, geography, consulting and project management to the Hub to help expand its global representation.
David has obtained his PhD in Atmospheric Science from the School of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment at Monash University in 2020 and was part of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes. His research focussed on the representation of drought in observations and climate models with a particular emphasis on flash drought. Before joining the Hub, he worked for the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) remotely as a Scientific Consultant on an international project concerning the evaluation of the weather warning production chain using value chain approaches led by the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) in Melbourne. He continues this work part-time as a Research Scientist at the BOM alongside his duties at the Hub.
