Kate Bongiovanni

Kate is a Project Officer for the Changing Climates project which aims to improve public understanding of climate change. Prior to working at the hub, Kate completed a Master of Science where she researched how volcanoes impact our climate by analysing local weather observations and climate model output. Kate has been involved with analysing Australian snowfall trends with the Bureau of Meteorology and changes to long-term climate in New Zealand with the University of Melbourne.

In addition, Kate worked for the Australian-German Climate & Energy College to organise seminars on the transition to sustainable energy, and she has been involved in numerous science initiatives to engage young people and local community members in STEM.

As an enthusiastic science communicator and climate science researcher, Kate has a strong passion for exploring different science topics and sharing science stories with others and is always eager to engage with different science opportunities.
