Michael Chew

Michael is currently pursuing doctoral research in photo-voice and comparative urban climate resilience in Bangladesh, China and Australia at Monash University. He is a community cultural development practitioner and photographer with degrees in Art Photography, Mathematical Physics, Humanities and Social Ecology.  He has long standing interest in international cultural and economic development, co-founded the NGOs Friends of Kolkata and Friends of Bangladesh to run global volunteer programmes and the Melbourne Environmental Arts Festival. He has run visual and participatory communication projects in India, Indonesia and East Timor, and worked on climate adaptation capacity development in Bangladesh and participatory groundwater management in India.
