Anke Leroux

Anke is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics at the Monash Business School, where she teaches Economics of Climate Change to undergraduate students. She is also the Australian representative for the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE).

Anke is an environmental and natural resource economist, who is interested in problems of optimal natural resource use and conservation under conditions of risk, uncertainty and irreversibility. She has applied her research to inform policy on optimal climate change adaptation, including strategies for the conservation of land and coastal ecosystems that are under threat from climatic change and sea level rise. She also works on the optimal management of increasingly scarce urban water. Her work has been published in leading international journals including the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Water Resources Research and Ecological Economics.

She believes in the importance of communicating to a wide audience the economic implications of climate change as they are supported by scientific and economic research.
