Ben Eltham

Ben Eltham is a Lecturer in communications and culture at Monash University’s School of Media, Film and Journalism. He trained to postgraduate level in neuroscience before completing his PhD in cultural policy at Western Sydney University’s Institute for Culture and Society. Ben’s research interests include Australian cultural and media policy, cultural studies, communications theory and science and technology studies. He also writes for the popular media, where he has been the National Affairs Correspondent at New Matilda for the past decade. Ben writes regularly on energy and climate policy. His publications in this field include the white paper Australia’s Green Economic Potential (Centre for Policy Development, Sydney, 2010), a peer-reviewed co-authored  journal article on media coverage of the Black Saturday bush fire disaster, and a research paper for the Australian Department of Industry on the labour market implications of climate change adaptation and mitigation.
