Gitanjali Bedi

Gitanjali is Senior Learning Coordinator, educator and lecturer with Monash Sustainable Development Institute (MSDI). Gitanjali has extensive international experience in sustainability education, corporate sustainability and responsible business practice.

At MSDI, Gitanjali leads the design and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate and extra-curricular education. She regularly integrates climate change education and climate ‘solutions’ into her teaching. Working with ClimateWorks Australia, Gitanjali leads design and development of courses equipping Business School students with climate change and decarbonisation knowledge, skills and competencies to support organisations transition to zero carbon futures. She led the recent re-design and delivery of a Monash wide sustainability leadership extra-curricular program (Green Steps) working closely with Monash’s Net Zero and Buildings & Property teams to build students’ climate change literacy and applied skills experience.

Possessing an interdisciplinary post graduate background in corporate environmental and sustainability management, sustainability education and training, and international community development, Gitanjali has worked for United Nations Development Program (Asia, Latin America, Central Asia, Middle East), IUCN, LEAD International, and Swinburne University of Technology. Gitanjali is an active member of the Urban Coup Cohousing collective (since 2009) and is passionate about engaging and transforming communities and built environments to be more socially inclusive, resilient and have lighter ecological footprints.
