Prof Jack Corbett

Jack Corbett is Professor and Head of the School of Social Sciences at Monash University. His research focuses on the politics and governance of small island developing states (SIDS), including in the Pacific region, which are typically considered to be on the ‘frontline’ of climate impacts. Jack is particularly interested in how SIDS have responded to this emerging threat, including via co-ordinated advocacy in international organisations, and the way it will recast their post-colonial development model. This interest led him to help establish and serve as Co-Director of the ODI’s Resilient and Sustainable Islands Initiative. Jack’s work on SIDS, politics, and climate change can be found in leading journals such as Environmental PoliticsGlobal Environmental Politics, and Review of International Studies.
