Wendy Ellerton

Wendy is a lecturer in the Department of Design and part of the WonderLab PhD Research Cohort. Her research is interested in design, learning and collaboration. She acknowledges that today’s ecological issues cannot be addressed by one discipline alone and that designers need to work with scientists, artists, engineers and media to create sustainable pathways.

She has a Masters in Type and Media from the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Netherlands and has worked with several international type foundries. She practised for over eight years as a designer at award-winning studios Hofstede Design and Studio Round. In 2014 she founded her practice Polar Space to house a diverse practice that included research, design and education. Wendy has lectured on type design for the Australian Graphic Design Association and conducted design workshops internationally in Florence, Milan, Beijing and Riyadh.
