Tahnee Burgess

As Project Development Officer, Tahnee brings her diverse experience in climate science and environmental security to a breadth of projects at the Hub. Tahnee supports the incubation of interdisciplinary projects, including overseeing the development of the Climate Classrooms project. Tahnee also manages the ClimatePulse project- creating bespoke graphics and resources for the Weatherzone app exploring the impacts of climate change and weather across the country.

She has also authored a number of the Hub’s reports on the media reporting of climate across Australia and the Pacific. At the end of 2018 Tahnee was invited to be a member of the university’s delegation to the UNFCCC’s COP24 in Katowice, Poland.

Tahnee holds a Masters of Environment and Sustainability, specialising in Environmental Security. As well as a double degree in Arts and Science with a focus on climate and international relations through her studies. Tahnee has volunteered in a number of climate and environmental roles and conducted research in the Cinque Terre exploring the potential impacts of climate change on the region’s viticulture.

Prior to joining the Hub, Tahnee worked as a researcher on best practice climate change communication in the Pacific, on behalf of the Australian Pacific Climate Partnership, and with the CRC for Water Sensitive Cities specialising in social resilience to extreme weather events.
