Tahnee Burgess

Tahnee works as a Project Officer with the Monash Climate Change Communication Research Hub where she works communicating the science and impacts of climate change through videos with the Weatherzone app. Tahnee began working with the hub with an intern in her undergrad alongside work with a number of volunteer groups before graduating from Monash in 2018 with a double degree in Arts and Science.

She has conducted research into climate change communication in Australia and has co-authored two reports with the hub. At the end of 2018 Tahnee was a member of the university’s delegation to the UNFCCC’s COP24 in Katowice, Poland.

As well as her work with the hub, Tahnee is currently working as a researcher for ABC International Development on behalf of the Australian Pacific Climate Partnership. Bringing together her passion for climate science and communication, Tahnee’s work at APCP focuses on climate change and disaster communication across nine Pacific Island countries. At the beginning of the year she also began her Masters of Environment and Sustainability at Monash focusing on Environmental Security and where she is hoping to further her understanding of the complex environmental problems we all face.
