A message from the Dean to our 2020 Graduates
A message to our 2020 Graduates from Dean Professor Christina Mitchell AO
Congratulations on your recent graduation in absentia from the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.
In the absence of formal, in-person graduation ceremonies and the usual on-campus festivities since the COVID-19 pandemic, I hope you have been able to attend a replacement virtual graduation ceremony or one of our graduation garden parties on campus in March and April.
I want to take this opportunity to let you know that you are still very much in our thoughts and we recognise and honour this significant milestone in your life.
I wish you strength, courage and resilience as you commence or continue your career. We hope that the skills, resources and knowledge you’ve acquired through your recent study with us will help you to feel excited and confident about the opportunities available to you. We look forward to seeing how you approach any challenges ahead and help to protect and lead our communities.
For those job seeking, we send you our best wishes for navigating your search and remind you of the career services available to you as new graduates, including free career counselling sessions for alumni for up to 12 months after completion of your course.
For those who have already commenced in roles, this can be a challenging time for health professionals, health and medical scientists, and all people globally. We acknowledge and thank you for all you are doing to support the health system or your sector of work through this pandemic.
Please stay in touch and inspire our future health and medical students.
We invite you to stay connected by joining our Faculty’s Alumni LinkedIn group where you can find out about alumni benefits, opportunities and keep in touch with each other and the Faculty.
We encourage you to continue to access Monash services available to you for your career growth and lifelong learning.
Stay well, take care and best wishes for your future.
