Suitable for | This workshop is a pilot for Monash University's new Translational Research PhD. It is open to PhD candidates and teaching/research staff. The workshop is designed as a starting point for participants to develop an interest or skills in Bioinformatics. |
Aims |
After completing this course participants will have:

Overview | The format of the workshop will be a lecture introducing participants with aspects covered by biobanking activities. All participants should be able to have basic understanding of all process layers important for biobanking and its applications in research, starting with legal requirements through to sample retrieval for research purposes. |
Materials | Access to computing resources and learning materials will be provided to participants. See note below re laptop |
Laptop | All participants are required to bring a laptop. Participants should also ensure they have wireless access (Monash University Wireless, eduroam services are available in the room). |
Places | Place numbers are capped at 20. |
Catering | Afternoon tea provided. |
Fee | Free – this session is part of the pilot program that is developing teaching resources for the new Translational Research PhD program. |
