Suitable for Medical doctors, biomedical scientists, nurses, physiotherapists, clinicians, epidemiologists, psychologists, pharmacists, biochemists and public health researchers who are interested in understanding and applying the principles of Clinical Trial Study Design and Co-ordination.
Aims After completing this course participants will be able to:
  • Define pathways of Drug Development - 1 day
  • Understand the foundations of good clinical practice (GCP) – 1 day
  • Understand how to develop relevant questions and protocols when conducting Clinical Research – 1 days
  • Define what is involved when managing Regulatory Documents – 0.5 day
Overview This short course, Introduction to Clinical Trials, will consist of formal lectures, small group discussions and workshops. The course aims to develop fundamental knowledge in Clinical Trial Study Design and Co- ordination for all participants. It will specifically provide instruction in developing a clinical research question and creating a concise protocol that includes literature review, study design, subject sampling and recruitment, instruments and other measurement approaches, sample size, consent form, budget and timetable.
Materials All learning materials will be provided to participants.
Award A certificate of completion will be provided to all participants.
