Description
This symposium aims to explore and educate on a range of topical and clinically relevant diagnostics pertaining to infectious diseases. The primary objective of the symposium is to assist clinicians in understanding the utility of infectious diseases diagnostics and allow them to get the most out of their microbiology lab. The one-day symposium will be comprehensive and cover commonplace and rare investigations that are available in contemporary Australia, and will provide participants with practical and clinically relevant information to optimise patient outcomes and pathology stewardship.
The symposium will include leading national speakers including ID physicians, clinical microbiologists and scientists, and will present talks pitched to a broad audience across infectious diseases, pathology, other sub-specialty groups (eg. general medicine, ED, ICU, transplant, respiratory), pharmacists and infection prevention practitioners.
The symposium will be held in the Alfred Centre and will involve a combination of lectures, interactive sessions and clinical case examples.
