Overview
In Australia, people with HIV are living longer, but have an increased risk of conditions such as heart disease, liver or kidney disease, cancer and dementia. The reason these conditions are more common in people with HIV is not fully understood.
The aim of this study is to follow a group of 100 HIV positive and 100 HIV negative patients over many years to find out why these conditions are more common in people with HIV.
