HealthMap is a research study for people living with HIV in Victoria and New South Wales, Australia.
The study uses an interactive, online self-management programme to help people make the changes they need to improve their health. We're specifically interested in seeing if using the online programme will lower people's chance of getting heart disease.
People with HIV are more likely to have other illnesses, such as heart disease, than people without HIV. It is challenging both for people with HIV and their healthcare providers to address all of the important factors influencing health. We hope that using this online health programme will help both people with HIV and healthcare providers achieve the goal of improving the health of people with HIV.
We will measure this by looking at heart disease risk. We will also find out how people enjoyed using the programme and whether or not it was cost-effective.
