Outstanding contributions to health recognised with Australia Day Honours

The extraordinary achievements of the Monash Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences community were formally recognised with Australia Day honours this year.

Twenty eight awards were granted to alumni, staff and supporters at a ceremony at Government House on January 26. The honours acknowledge their significant contributions to medicine, research and education, health services and the community.

Former Monash University Vice Chancellor Emeritus Professor Richard Larkins was awarded the highest honour, Companion of the Order of Australia, for his eminent service to medicine and medical research, to education through academic leadership, to public health care, and to the community.
