Adjunct Senior Lecturer
Gayle is an adjunct senior lecturer at Monash University. After graduating as a registered nurse, she initially worked in critical care areas and obtained a coronary care certificate before becoming a midwife. Once she qualified has worked in a number of clinical settings. Before pursuing a career in academia, was a qualified lactation consultant. She has both a bachelor and a master’s degree in education.
As well as nursing and midwifery, Gayle has been actively involved with paramedic and medical education in regarding emergency care of pregnant and birthing women. Gayle has two main areas of research interest - education and women’s health. She is particularly interested in any inter-professional education that will improve the child-birth experience for both the mother and the clinical practitioner caring for her.
