Biography

Katie is from the UK and commenced her nursing career in a busy London Hospital, working in haematology/oncology/BMT.  Katie took her Oncology experience to the Middle East, where she worked in Saudi Arabia as the Team Leader of an adult and paediatric oncology clinic. She continued her travels to Australia; during her 11 years here Katie's clinical experience is predominantly in emergency and trauma nursing, and most recently refugee health.

Katie's education experience includes working as a clinical educator in a busy emergency department, and coordinating second year subjects for Bachelor of Nursing Students at Holmesglen.

Katie is currently studying the Master of Health Professional Education by research; and hopes to focus her thesis on the experiences and health outcomes of non-English speaking patients in Victorian hospitals, designing a multidisciplinary simulation for health professionals.
