Nelly's Researcher Profile

Biography

Nelly has been working for Monash University since 2010 firstly as a Teaching Associate and since 2016 as a lecturer. During this time she has  taught into all year levels of the Bachelor of Nursing Program with a primary focus on second year units. Nelly completed my Certificate of Nursing from the Launceston General Hospital, Tasmania which I later converted to a Bachelor of Nursing (Post Registration). Further qualifications have include a Graduate Certificate in Critical Care (Intensive Care – Monash Medical Centre), Graduate Diploma in Workplace Training and Development (Melbourne University) and Masters of Nursing (Education – Monash University).

Nelly has worked mostly within the public health sector across various disciplines over her 30+ years in clinical practice with a primary focus on Medical and Surgical Nursing. Since 2000 her focus has been on education and has a passion for supporting students and new graduates transitioning into the workforce. This has seen Nelly work as a Nurse Educator and a Clinical Facilitator, setting up the Monash at Peninsula (MAP) program within Peninsula Health. Nelly feels she has been fortunate to be able to combine both clinical and academic careers during this time.
