Writing and communication are essential aspects of the graduate research student training process. Workshops and online resources are provided to support students in the written and oral communication of their research.

Monash Graduate Education - Graduate Researcher Development

Monash Graduate Education run a number of professional development training modules and workshops to assist with the writing and communication. These are available to all graduate research students enrolled at Monash University. English Connect

English Connect provides specifically tailored programs at Monash. These have been developed in consultation with international students to ensure that they cover the things most relevant to students needs. All of the language and cross-cultural sessions have been designed to assist students with their transition into Monash and Australia as well as to enhance student skills for the future.

Professional Editing

Editing assistance

The Graduate Research Committee  has endorsed the Guidelines for Editing  Research Theses , which form part of the Australian Standards for Editing Practices.
Where a thesis or dissertation  is to have input from a professional editor, the student must obtain written  permission from the main supervisor. The student should supply the editor a  copy of this permission, along with the manuscript. For more information on  editing assistance please see section 7.1 of the Doctoral degrees Handbook

The Monash  Postgraduate Association has a guide available for thesis proof reading  services. This contains a list of proof-readers and editors.

The  Thesis Whisperer

The Thesis  Whisperer is a blog newspaper dedicated to the topic of doing a thesis.
