Year A
Foundation studies in Churchill
Monash Rural Health Churchill delivers Year A of the four-year graduate entry medical program. Co-located with the Gippsland campus of Federation University, Monash Rural Health Churchill offers complete library services, a sophisticated clinical skills simulation environment and close ties with practising clinicians. We also have partnerships with health and community support agencies throughout Gippsland.
Graduate entry students have the opportunity to undertake clinical placements with Monash's clinical teaching sites in metropolitan Melbourne as well the Gippsland region and north-west Victoria. Once students begin clinical training the program is the same for graduate entry and direct entry students. Direct entry students also undertake clinical placements at these metropolitan and regional/rural clinical teaching sites.

Peer mentoring program
As a new Year A medical student in 2023, we have a Peer Mentoring program at Churchill. You will be allocated to a small mentee group from the beginning of the year. The mentoring program will be introduced at MedReady as you commence your studies. All mentors are 3B second year medical students and their very recent experience of Year A will be supportive and help you navigate your year of studying medicine.
