Award-winning educators

Our staff are world leaders in their field. Educators from our department have been recognised for their dedication to teaching with awards such as the Monash University Vice Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence, the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Education and the 2017 Australian Award for University Teaching – Award for Teaching Excellence. Hands-on approach to learning

We know education isn’t always about sitting at a desk. It’s about getting involved and taking a hands-on approach through applying theory to practical work. As a Monash Nutrition student, you will experience a multifacted approach to optimise health and wellbeing. We partner with industry and public health to give students the opportunity to gain practical experience to apply food regulation knowledge, dietary analysis skills, recipe modification and sensory testing.

State of the art facilities

As a nutrition science student, you will have access to BASE (Be Active Sleep Eat), a facility comprising of a sleep laboratory, commercial kitchen, exercise and fitness studios and consulting suites. BASE provides students with facilities to perform high quality research and practical experience.

Awards and Prizes

The following prizes are available each year for the Bachelor of Nutrition Science, Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics (Honours), Bachelor of Nutrition (Honours) and Master of Dietetics degrees.  The winners are presented the prize at the Faculty Student Award Ceremony usually held in May.  The winners are confirmed by the Course Management Committee and they will be contacted by the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics & Food.
