This course is designed for Obstetric & Gynaecology senior trainees and consultants aiming to operate at a RANZCOG/AGES skill level 3 & 4.

Clinical knowledge and reasoning (‘Lectures’ - half-day)

  • Theatre Set up
  • Energy sources – Principles and Pitfalls
  • Entry Techniques
  • Understanding Laparoscopic Anatomy
  • Laparoscopic Suturing
  • Complications of laparoscopy
  • AGES accreditation guidelines

Clinical Skills (‘Hands-on live animal workshop’ - half-day)

  • Laparoscopic techniques.
  • Suturing (intracorporeal and extracorporeal knot tying).
  • Laparoscopic hysterectomy
  • Bladder, bowel and vascular repair

Hands-on live animal workshop*

  • Fri 13 Dec – half-day (only 2 more places available now - AM session only)
  • Sat 5 Oct –- half-day (Sold out)
