OsteoStrong® Study

This 8-month pilot study involving progressive increases in high-intensity/load, low- volume exercise in postmenopausal women with low bone density is investigating whether a bone strengthening program offered by OsteoStrong® improves bone health in a population at increased risk of fracture.

Benefits to you

  • Free 8-month OsteoStrong ® membership (Hawthorn facility) inclusive of a supportive 1:1 appointment each week to trial a personalised bone strengthening program
  • Free health check-ups including comprehensive bone health and body composition scans as well as blood and physical function tests

Commitment

  • 1 x 30-minute appointment for screening
  • 2 x 2-hour appointments involving; blood tests, questionnaires, anthropometric measurements, physical function tests and bone density and body composition scans
  • Weekly session at OsteoStrong ® (approx. 20-minutes per session) for 8 months

Eligibility

  • Postmenopausal women aged >50 years
  • Body Mass Index <30kg/m2
  • Low bone mineral density (we can measure this for you)
