2021 MD Direct Entry updates – International students
Due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation, we are evaluating our current admissions procedures for 2021 entry into the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (MD).
We understand there has been widespread disruption to studies and results in 2020.
We may make changes to our admissions requirements where necessary, in order to maintain a fair and equitable process for all applicants.
You should apply with us as soon as possible so that we can communicate directly with you about any changes as they occur. We anticipate that any change we make in response to the impact of coronavirus will extend to 2021 entry only.
We are committed to providing an equitable admissions process for all students applying to commence our MD course in 2021. As we adapt and make changes, we continue to take into account the unique challenges facing students who are planning their future studies in these challenging times.
The requirement for students to complete the International Student Admissions Test (ISAT) as part of their application is still in effect. For details on the ISAT and how to apply, please visit the ISAT website. We continue to monitor announcements in relation to the 2020 ISAT cycles and are aware of the move to online proctored tests for Cycle 1 & Cycle 2.
All students applying to our MD course should register and complete the ISAT test and we will accept results from online testing.
Given the global travel restrictions and physical distancing requirements currently in place, the 2020 medicine interviews with shortlisted international students will be held online, rather than face-to-face. Details of the interview format and specific dates are still under review at this stage, however online interviews will still be held in July, August and November. We are in the process of updating our website and digital brochures to reflect this change.
For now, the most important actions to take are to apply with us and complete the ISAT test.
Communications about interview dates and processes will be ongoing, and we encourage you to monitor this page and our important dates page for further announcements. Please check back regularly to stay informed.
