Application and Interview timeline for domestic applicants

2020 Entry
1st March  - 17th May

Registration for UCAT is open at UCAT ANZ. and book your testing venue, date and time.

1st July - 31 July

Sit the UCAT test at your nominated date, time and venue.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Applicants who wish to be considered for Medicine at Monash in 2020 MUST apply to VTAC by the close of timely applications. Only those applicants who include at least one Medicine code in their preferences at this time will be considered. If you remove Medicine from your preferences after Friday 30th September 2019, you cannot add it back to your preferences and you will no longer be eligible to be considered.

UCAT results released.  If you have not sat the UCAT test this year, you will not be eligible to apply for medicine for the 2020 intake.


Late October - eligible applicants, those who have sat the UCAT this year and have one of the medicine courses as a preference, will receive an email regarding the interview process and dates.

At this time applicants will also be invited to apply for the Dean’s Rural List and Dean’s Indigenous List.

NOTE: It is applicants' responsibility to regularly check their email including their SPAM and TRASH folders. Please do not contact the Faculty Admission's Unit unless you have thoroughly checked your emails.


  • Thursday 12th December 2019  - Year 12 results released in Victoria.
  • Week commencing 17th December 2019 - Invitations to interview will be emailed to eligible VCE applicants as well as Victorian and national Dean’s Rural List and Dean’s Indigenous List applicants

NOTE: Monash will not be offering any places in the Medicine program in the December Round offers. If you wish to be considered for a place in medicine you will need to keep medicine as a preference and NOT remove it during the December change of preference period.


  • 3, 6, 7 and 8 January 2020: Interviews for Victorian VCE and National DRL and DIL applicants
  • 8 January 2020: Interviews for Victorian IB applicants
  • Mid-January 2019: January Round offers made through VTAC
  • Mid-January 2019: Invitations to interview will be emailed to eligible interstate and NZ applicants
  • 21 & 22 January 2020: Interviews for Interstate and NZ applicants.


  • Early-February 2020: Round 2 offers made through VTAC
  • Mid-February: Possible further Medicine offers may be made via VTAC
  • Compulsory attendance at MedStart Program: Late February 2020
  • Orientation Week: 24 February 2020
  • Semester 1: 2 March 2020


  • Interviews are scheduled at the discretion of the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.
  • Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview via email and will be required to log in to an online system to self-allocate a time to attend. Once the system closes, changes will not be permitted and late requests cannot be accommodated.
  • Applicants should make themselves available for all published dates if they wish to remain eligible for Medicine at Monash.
  • Only those applicants who attend an interview will remain eligible for an offer.
