Ian is a senior executive with the health sector (ambulance and public hospital) with a successful track record of delivering targeted business results, improved patient outcomes and key stakeholder engagement, including special needs communities.
After 31 years in Ambulance Victoria the last 15 years in senior management, Ian consulted, nationally and internationally before taking a position as Clinical Services Director, National Ambulance Company in Abu Dhabi in 2010. He joined RCH in March 2012 as Director Emergency Retrieval and Referral Service to bring together the neonatal, paediatric and perinatal services into an amalgamated service in the new RCH.
In 2015 he returned to Ambulance Victoria as General Manager Clinical & Community Services, Ambulance Victoria. He also is an Adjunct Associate Professor Monash University Department of Community Emergency Health and Paramedic Practice, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Science
Ian has researched and published papers relating to prehospital care. He is a Fellow, Life Member and Immediate Past President of Paramedics Australasia, the peak professional body for Paramedics in Australasia.
