Biography

Matthew is a new addition to Monash University  in 2017. Matthew has spent the last 10 years working in emergency health care,  first working as an emergency department Registered Nurse before making the  jump to Paramedicine.

Matthew started his  Paramedic career working for Ambulance Victoria in the metropolitan region and  Loddon Mallee. Following this he worked the last 4 years for The ACT Ambulance  Service. Having recently completed a two semester secondment in 2016 to  Australian Catholic University in Canberra, Matthew has decided to make a full  time move to teaching and academia. In addition to his secondment with ACU, he  has worked as a sessional staff member for ACU and QUT in both the Paramedicine  and Nursing programs.

Outside of the tertiary sector Matthew is also  an Advanced Life Support level 2 instructor with the Australian Resuscitation  Council, where he delivers clinical education to medical officers, registered  nurses and paramedics.Matthew is currently due to  complete his Master of Emergency Health with Monash University in semester 1  2017. He is currently completing a project looking at the epidemiology of  paediatric hypoglycaemia in the prehospital environment.
