Emeritus Professor Merilyn Liddell AM

Professor Merilyn Liddell is Emeritus Professor of general practice education at Monash University. She has had a distinguished career in both clinical and academic family medicine and a record of successful senior academic leadership and management in Australia and internationally. Prior to her academic career, Emeritus Professor Liddell practiced in clinical medicine in Canada, UK and Australia.
For some years she held the position of Head of the Department of General Practice at Monash University. She then took up the role of President of the Monash campus in Malaysia, and subsequently a similar role for RMIT in Vietnam.
Under her leadership, Monash developed the first and still the only medical school outside Australia and New Zealand to achieve full Australian Medical Council accreditation.
