Brooke joined the Southern Academic Primary Care Research Unit (SAPCRU) within the Department of General Practice as a Research Assistant in October 2011. In October 2013 she moved to sit within the School of Primary Health Care as Research Administrator to the Head of School.

Alongside managing appointments for the Head of School, Brooke is currently leading a pilot project seeking to explore the role of gender in primary health care and sits on the School’s Family Violence Prevention Working Group. Previously, Brooke was Recruitment Officer for the Parkinson’s disease mindfulness randomized control trial and has published two peer-reviewed journal articles and presented papers at three national conferences.

Having visited several grass-roots women’s health programs both locally and internationally in Indonesia and India, Brooke’s research interest is strongly centered around improving opportunities for women though promoting women’s participation, development, gender equality and preventing family violence.
