Edwina joined the Department of General Practice in 2016 as a Research Assistant. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts-Social Science (Hons.) from Monash University in 2002 and gained experience as a Research Assistant at the Alfred Hospital and the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI) since then.

Edwina has worked on projects investigating physical activity in older family carers with depression, exercise in older people from CALD backgrounds, asthma mortality, lung health in older people, adolescents with primary immunodeficiencies in transition from paediatric to adult care, asthma general practice consultations and over-the-counter versus prescription asthma medication purchase.

Under the direction of Professor Danielle Mazza, Edwina is currently working on two projects: “Improving the implementation of obesity guidelines in general practice: Practice, practitioners and patient challenges and opportunities” and “Barriers and facilitators to the delivery and uptake of long-acting reversible contraception: What are the views of general practitioners?
