PhD Candidate

PhD working title: Experiences and challenges of providing care to fellow doctors

Supervisors: Professor Grant Russell, Dr Chris Barton and Dr Penny Round

Claire has a longstanding interest in doctor help-seeking behaviour, having worked as the consultant psychologist for the AMA (Vic) Peer Support Service (an anonymous phone service) since its inception in 2008. She plans to investigate the broader area of doctors who provide care for their peers, whether in a professional or voluntary capacity, looking at their experiences, and the challenges involved in helping fellow doctors.

As well as her part-time PhD study, Claire is a full-time lecturer in the Master of Counselling program (Faculty of Education) and ridiculously tries to maintain a small private practice as a counselling psychologist.
