Short courses
For over 15 years the Department of Paramedicine has offered a range of first responder and paramedic short course programs. We deliver short courses to students and professionals currently working in, or planning employment in paramedicine and community-based emergency health settings. Our suite of short courses has been developed to meet the initial training and/or on-going professional development requirements of many organisations and professionals in paramedicine and community-based emergency health settings.
Monash Paramedicine were recently approved by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) US as a training site to teach the following course nationally and internationally; a first for any Australian university. The courses include:
Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) – First Responders
Geriatric Education for EMS (GEMS)

Understanding and Interpreting ECGs (Hong Kong Health Professionals Only)
The Department of Paramedicine is pleased to announce the following upcoming ECG short courses. These will be presented by Professor Brett Williams and Quinch Wong, and only to health professionals residing in Hong Kong (HKSAR).
