Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support for First Responders (PHTLS-FR) from the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) is the perfect course for fire-fighters, police officers, emergency medical responders (EMR), coastguard members and SES personnel.

This 2-day hybrid (1 day online, 1 day face-to-face) is designed for First Responders to enable them to provide effective trauma treatment in the period before the emergency medical services (EMS) arrive on scene. Developed by NAEMT in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ASC-COT), PHTLS-FR reflects current, evidence-based knowledge and practice, and promotes critical-thinking as the foundation for providing quality care.

This interactive course format includes underpinning lectures, multiple “hands on” skills stations and simulated trauma scenarios. This course includes the Prehospital Trauma Life Support – First Responder textbook, 4-year PHTLS-FR certification, with the PHLTS international governing body, the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT).
