Understanding and Interpreting ECGs (Hong Kong Health Professionals Only)

Monash Physiotherapy Short Courses

The Department of Paramedicine is pleased to announce the following upcoming ECG short courses. These will be presented by Professor Brett Williams and Quinch Wong, and only to health professionals residing in Hong Kong (HKSAR).

Professor Brett Williams has been teaching ECGs nationally and internationally for well over 15 years. He is a former Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) Paramedic, Registered Paramedic and current Head of Paramedicine at Monash University. Quinch Wong is also a Registered Paramedic and Registered Nurse, is currently an Advanced Life Support Paramedic for Ambulance Victoria, and Faculty teaching member of the Department of Paramedicine.

ECG Modules

ECG modules will run for 2 hours in length will be delivered and recorded via Zoom.

The following modules will be delivered:

  • Module 1: Basic concepts and component to ECG
  • Module 2: Sinus and Junctional Rhythms
  • Module 3: Ectopic Arrhythmias
  • Module 4: Bradyarrhythmias
  • Module 5: Supraventricular Arrhythmias
  • Module 6: Ventricular Arrhythmias
  • Module 7: Introduction to 12-Lead ECG and Bundle Branch Blocks
  • Module 8: Acute Coronary Syndrome and Infarction Patterns

Each module will include a pre-learning quiz and activities, lecture content, small group practise ECG sessions, post-learning quiz. Participants will receive a Monash University eCertificate of Completion at the conclusion of each module.

  • Saturday 17th July (Module #4: Bradyarrhythmia’s) 3-5pm (HK Local Time)
  • Friday 23rd July (Module #5: Supraventricular Tachyarrhythmia’s) 8-10pm (HK Local Time)
  • Saturday 24th July (Module #6: Ventricular Tachyarrhythmia’s) 9-11am (HK Local Time)
  • Saturday 24th July (Module #7: Introduction to 12-Lead ECGs) 12-2pm (HK Local Time)
  • Saturday 24th July (Module #8: Acute Coronary Syndrome) 3-5pm (HK Local Time)
