Amanda Abbass

Amanda has worked as a Paramedic with Ambulance Victoria for over four years and has been practicing as a sessional lecturer at Monash University for over two years. She is Monash University alumni herself, graduating with a double degree in Emergency Health (Paramedicine) and Nursing in 2016. Amanda has a huge passion for education, continuing her learning beyond university to gain her certificate IV in Fitness and Nutrition and concurrently works as a Spin Instructor at a fitness studio. She also dedicates her time to speaking on a weekly podcast related to the health and wellbeing of young women.

Amanda is also an avid reader and would like this to translate to writing and research in her future endeavours. Since 2019, she has been a PhD research assistant and hopes to one day undertake a research project of her own. In 2021, Amanda will be working both operationally as a paramedic as well as undertaking the role of Lecturer / Unit Coordinator at Monash University, teaching Advanced Life Support and Special Populations to undergraduate students.
