Biography:

Jake is an intensive care paramedic (MICA) with Ambulance Victoria and currently seconded to the university for the post graduate program. Jake has over 13 years of industry experience, including working as a clinical instructor and educator at both the Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Intensive Care Paramedic (ICP/MICA) levels in the Victorian metropolitan region. His experience at the tertiary level includes sessional instruction for a few universities and more recently in the post graduate program for Monash over the past two years.

Jake completed his Master of Specialist Paramedic practice with Monash University and his research focused on Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) secondary to Electrical Injury (EI). He has an interest in prehospital trauma care, clinical decision making in high-acuity/complex settings and developing paramedic mindset-growth towards evidence-based practices.

Outside of work and studies, Jake is a part-time military member with experience in delivering defence (ADF) responses to civilian disasters. He also enjoys days at the beach, cooking and healthy debates around all things cricket.
