Lecturer (Cardiorespiratory)

  • Graduated from La Trobe University 2002.
  • Worked in acute public healthcare setting, Melbourne Australia, from  2003-2006. Initially rotating grade 1, then grade 2 in the area of  cardiorespiratory physiotherapy (respiratory medicine, surgery, critical  care, general medicine, oncology).
  • Worked for 18 months as a Senior I physiotherapist in a large NHS hospital near Glasgow, Scotland.
  • Commenced employment with Monash University in late 2007 (ongoing).
  • PhD thesis (confirmed 2013) entitled: 'Is there a role for airway clearance techniques in individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease?'

Teaching Responsibilities

  • 2014 Stream leader and unit coordinator of PTY2031 Physiotherapy 3 (cardiorespiratory physiotherapy).
  • Development and delivery of cardiorespiratory lectures, practical  classes, tutorials and case-based learning facilitation for second year  PTY2031 students.
  • Writing, co-ordination and delivery of formative and summative  student assessment, including OSCEs, written papers, CBLs, online  quizzes, written assignments (PTY2031)
  • Active contributions to departmental research projects, including  national HWA-funded ‘embedding simulation into clinical education in  physiotherapy' and development of an online curriculum repository.
