Lori has over 20 years of experience in educational leadership, curriculum development and teaching in radiography and health sciences programs. She also has a strong understanding and familiarity with the post-secondary educational environment and the regulation of healthcare professionals in Canada and worldwide. Throughout her career Lori has developed curriculum and taught extensively both live and online at the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences (Toronto, Canada), the University of Toronto, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (Oshawa,Canada) and recently at Central Queensland University.
Lori completed her radiography education at The Toronto Institute of Medical Technology in Toronto Canada and was qualified as a radiographer in 1979 after which she practiced the profession until 1991. At that time Lori took on the position of Chair, Centre for Continuing Professional Education at The Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences (Michener). In 2005 Lori became Chair of the Medical Radiation Sciences Programs (radiography, nuclear medicine and radiation therapy) a collaborative program with Michener and the University of Toronto.
In 2007 Lori became Director of Policy at the College of Medical Radiation Technologists in Ontario, the regulatory body for medical radiation technologists in Ontario, Canada. Since 2010, Lori has also held a volunteer position as Regional Coordinator for the Americas, Education with the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT).
Lori’s research and teaching interests include: application of psychosocial theory to radiographic practice, interprofessional collaborative practice in medical radiation sciences, ethical issues in radiation sciences and developing reflective practice and cultural competence in radiography and health science students and practitioners.
Throughout 2013 Lori worked as a consultant for Monash University assisting with the development of the radiography program at Fatima College in Abu Dhabi. Lori has recently joined Monash as a staff member (January of 2014) and is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Bachelor of Radiography and Medical Imaging Program.
