Caroline completed her training and postgraduate studies in radiation therapy at Sheffield Hallam University, England. Caroline practised clinically and worked in radiation therapy research before gaining her first academic appointment as a Senior Lecturer in the UK.

In 2003, Caroline joined Monash University as the Course Convenor for the Master of Medical Radiations (Radiation Therapy). She convenes a number of units, is responsible for curriculum development and supports students from a number of States and Territories in completing their academic and clinical coursework. Caroline has convened numerous workshops throughout Australia and the United Kingdom on clinical education, professional practice, evidence based practice, research and advanced practice. Caroline has been actively involved in developing on-line and work-based learning programs to support Assistant Practitioner, Return to Practice and Advanced Practice roles. Caroline has been involved in the review process for internationally delivered radiation therapy programs.

Caroline’s clinical interests include head and neck cancer, the role of advanced practice in radiation therapy and quality of life in head and neck cancer. From an educational perspective, Caroline’s research interests include fitness to practise in medical radiation science, student selection, simulated and on-line learning, clinical assessment and the educational development of advanced practice roles.

In June 2006, Caroline was awarded the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences Dean’s prize for teaching excellence. Caroline is active within the profession being a member of the Editorial Review Board for The Journal of Radiotherapy in Practice (Cambridge University Press, U.K). Caroline is a founding member of the Australia and New Zealand Medical Radiations Research Network and is also a member of the Australian Radiation Therapy Program Coordinators Group. Caroline also sits on Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia Accreditation panels for the review of academic programs.

Caroline has recently completed a PhD in the area of fitness to practice in radiation therapy.
